Project Description

“Lagerkorn”, this is answer of Rüdiger Sasse of the fine distillery in Schöppingen, to the growing interest in exclusive spirits. The “Lagerkorn” experience also includes the entire Sasse distillery estate, which welcomes up to 15,000 guests every year. With an investment of around 5 million, new buildings have been constructed, including the Refugium.

The concrete floor in the refugium, which is also the waterproof slab of the storage’s white tank, was covered with an industrial flooring system from KORODUR, the mineral dry mortar NEODUR HE 3, red. The supporting concrete, just ready to be walked on, was disc trowelled and NEODUR HE 3 in red colour uniformly broadcast using a spreader. Finally, the surface was mechanically trowelled and smoothed.

The floor in the maturing hall, where liquids are regularly handled, is now wear-resistant, slip-resistant, and waterproof. Its red colour perfectly matches the aesthetic concept intended by the architect and, interacting with the ochre-yellow concrete walls, creates a pleasant, warm atmosphere in the hall.
