Given the extreme climatic conditions in Finland, particularly the long winters with regular use of de-icing agents, a solution was required that could withstand both low temperatures and mechanical stress. The polymer-modified dry mortar NEODUR HE 65 Plus SVS 5 was chosen due to its high resistance to frost, de-icing salts, and wear.<\/p>\n<p>Challenges:<br \/>\nClimatic conditions \u2013 Protection from extreme temperatures and frequent use of of de-icing agents.<br \/>\nWeather protection during application \u2013 To ensure optimal application quality, a tent was erected to shield the surface during the application process and for seven days after.<\/p>\n<p>Solution:<br \/>\nNEODUR HE 65 Plus was applied in a layer thickness of approx. 30 mm. Due to its polymer-modified composition, there was no need for an additional bonding agent, which simplified and accelerated the application process. The tent provided crucial protection during and after application, ensuring optimum hardening and shielding the surface from the weather.<\/p>\n<p>Result:<br \/>\nFive years after the renovation, in 2023, the client confirmed that the helipad surface remains in excellent condition.
