The airport Leipzig-Halle is developing as air freight hub to the leading logistics-centre in the middle of Europe. For the flooring solution in the World Cargo Centre and the establishment of DHL (Express and logistics affiliate of the German Post World Net) the logicians put their trust on the high quality KORODUR industrial floors.

At the site Leipzig-Halle more than 30.000 m² flooring areas have been installed with KORODUR floor hardeners respectively NEODUR HE 3.

The storage area in the World Cargo Centre stretches over the size of 3 soccer fields. To allow the cargo handling between aircraft and trucks, the cargo centre is equipped with 38 truck docking stations. The area is provided with 171 spaces for all users of the facilities.

The new air freight logistics-hub will start operation early 2008. Express shipments of all weight categories in a yearly capacity of 200.000 tons will be handled on the KORODUR industrial floors.

For the region of Leipzig this new cargo airport means a considerable strengthening as economic site. At DHL alone until the year 2012 around 3.500 new working places shall be created and another 7.000 places in the surrounding facilities and third party operated service  companies.

During the topping-out ceremony in April 2007 Saxony's minister president Milbradt thanked both enterprises, Garbe Logistic AG and GeoMar BV, who are establishing the World Cargo Centre in the cargo area South of the Leipzig airport "With your companies Saxony is winning strong partners who stand for internationality and efficient solutions in the cargo carrier sector with highest professionalism."
